Color Guard Wins Wing Championship |

The Group 2 (Gainesville/Suwannee) Color Guard have earned the title of 2008 Florida Wing Champions. The team consists of Gainesville cadets Tim Lhota (commander), Tiffany Jakowczuk, and Josh Davidson as well as Suwannee Valley cadet Heather Paul.
As Wing champions, the team will represent Florida Wing at the 2008 Southeast Region Cadet Competition on March 28-30 at MacDill AFB in Tampa. In addition, the team will present the colors at Wing Conference and National Cadet Special Activities selection boards this winter.
The team placed in the following events:
- In-Ranks Inspection - 1st
- Standard Drill - 1st
- Written Exam - 1st
- Outdoor Practical Drill - 2nd
In addition, C/TSgt Tiffany Jakowczuk earned a trophy for the highest Written Examination score in the color guard competition. This carries on the Gainesville tradition, as Evan Stanley earned the award in last year's competition.
