On Thursday, 4 December, the squadron held its annual Awards Banquet at Waldo First Baptist Church. The guest speaker was Maj Gen Maurice Edmonds, US Army (Ret).  General Edmonds served two tours in Vietnam.  Both of his sons are Army officers, and one is a helicopter pilot.  General Edmonds is a graduate of UF, and lettered there in sports.  He gave an outstanding talk about the value of a CAP Cadet membership, the importance of quality leadership, and the importance of good role models, both in the family, and in such organizations as CAP.

Honored guests included Brig Gen (ret) Paul Albritton and his wife Pat, and Lt Col John Edsall, Group 2 Commander. Both gentlemen presented awards.

Additionally, the squadron presented Maj Christian Campbell with a going-away gift -  of a series of photos mounted and framed, and a trophy-styled plaque in appreciation for his work and efforts with the Cadet Program.  The presentation was made by the Lhota father and son team.
